In brief, the SOAR expectations ensure that teachers have consistent, objective, and non-discriminatory behavioral expectations of students and that students, in turn, recognize how these behaviors promote a positive learning atmosphere for everyone. The expectations can be remembered through the simple SOAR acronym:
S - Be a Scholar. Make school work a priority and take pride in doing well.
O - Be Organized. Pre-plan your day and use the tools available to you do so.
A - Be Accountable. Recognize your role in meeting expectations.
R - Be Respectful. Recognize the needs of others.
