Regular school attendance is important to success in school. A student’s attendance in school becomes part of his/her permanent school record and is often the subject of inquiry by employers. In addition, regular school attendance is required by Wisconsin compulsory attendance statutes 118.15 and 118.16 which hold parents responsible for seeing to it that students are in school on a daily basis.
A complete outline of MGHS attendance regulations and school responses can be found on pages 13-14 of the MGHS Student Handbook. Here you'll find information on:
- excused absences
- planned absences and vacations
- unexcused absences
- leaving school during the day
- unexcused tardies
- and other attendance related issues.
