Sometimes historical dates and basic facts don't line up because of 
1)  historical shifts in the calendar
2)  poor record keeping during that time period.
When looking these background facts up online, it's always best to use an authoritative reference source, such as Britannica Encyclopedia.  And always examine the source for credible authorship and/or resources used.
